Volunteers Who Kick Ass

Meet Katie Matteo our sponsorship guru. Katie runs all areas concerning sponsorships, one of our most necessary functions! Katie has done an amazing job with organizing all our Paper Fashion Show sponsors, student-event sponsors, annual sponsors, as well as event sponsors. ADCD is very grateful to have such a dedicated and talented young lady to help keep the club going with financial and in-kind support.

Here is a little about Katie. Make sure you say hello to her at the next event, she is an amazing friend as well as a talented artist!

Katie was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where her mom and dad still live, but she now resides in Fort Collins with her older brother. While in Steamboat she spent 15 years being trained in classical ballet. Katie attended Colorado State University for a Bachelors of Fine Art as well as a Master of Management Practice in Marketing. During her time at CSU she studied abroad in a small Italian village in Tuscany, 10km from where Under the Tuscan Sun was filmed and used to be able to speak Spanish and Italian.

She loves to try new cooking and baking recipes, using Tyler, her bf, as her guinea pig several times a week. Katie enjoys reading, ceramics, and letterpress. She spends the summers going camping and ATVing in the sand dunes with Tyler. You can frequently find her dressed like Audrey Hepburn on Halloween.

Katie was indoctrinated into ADCD by college mentor Nikki Arnell in 2008 who started bringing a couple students to board meetings and events. We suckered her in for the free food but she quickly discovered "what an amazing group of people the board is comprised of and how valuable it is, especially for young professionals." Katie currently works at Burns Marketing as a Graphic Designer.

The million dollar question: If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?
Katie: Restaurant-style Ranch (yeah, the really fatty stuff that you really don't want to know what's actually in it). I could eat it on just about anything, drowning in it would probably be a delicious way to go...

If you would like to get involved with running ADCD and meet lots of fun creatives, email us at info@adcd.com to attend a board meeting. ADCD is ran by an all-volunteer board consisting of 15 members. Board members and volunteers to the board help organize and plan all our events.
