Pinhole Photography Workshop

Course Description:

This is pretty simple. You make a camera out of a box, use the box to make images on light sensitive paper, develop the paper, and you have a pinhole photograph that's all yours.

The objective is to learn to keep it simple; starting with your vision, the image capture and especially the processing and the printing of the image. We will explore ways to simplify these steps so that our primary focus can be on the creation of the image.

Outdoor Photography Session with Jerry Sullivan

Saturday, August 6th, outing to Benson Sculptor Garden in Loveland with Jerry Sullivan as our Photographic Expert, guest and guide was fun as well as informative.

We spent our first hour getting familiar with our cameras, talking

about settings (how and why), and addressing individual questions

participants had.

Our efforts next concentrated on shooting a single object (piece of sculptor) with

different camera settings to see and learn how changing settings will affect your shot.

As the garden was under transformation for this week’s Sculptor in the Park show, are focus next took us to the flora around the lake where we experimented with depth of field, composition, light and movement.

This was another extremely informative, interesting, and fun FRC2 gathering, we were fortunate to offer the group because of Jerry Sullivan graciously giving his time and expertise.

Our thanks go out to Jerry for his continued support and participation with FRC2, and we look forward to seeing you all Saturday, August 13th for the Sculptor in the Park show, Benson Sculptor Park
in Loveland.

Anyone want to design a website?

Jerry Sullivan is in need of someone to design and build a website for his photography business. If anyone would like to help him out, please contact Jerry Sullivan at sully204@yahoo.com

He would not be able to pay you, but you would be able to add that to your portfolio for experience.

He would greatly appreciate any help!

Thanks

Jerry Sullivan's Photo Workshop

Jerry Sullivan's photo workshop was awesome!
Jerry was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in his workshop, and we're all itching for him to come back and teach us more. The majority of the workshop covered the bare basics of film speed, shutter speed, and aperture.

As Jerry says, don't just shoot with luck, shoot with knowledge! He gave a homework assignment to help us fully understand shutter speed and aperture and how they work together.

If you missed the meeting and are interested in the topics covered or the homework assignment,
contact Caitlin Ming at cming88@gmail.com.

Jerry was very gracious to give us his phone number and email if anyone would like to learn more about photography basics, he would be more than happy to help.

Here is his information:
Phone number: 970-568-6910
Email: sully204@yahoo.com

If you email him, just make sure to put "Photo Workshop" or something similar in the subject line.

Simple exercise to demonstrate how our camera interprets 18% gray.

We look forward to having Jerry come back this summer for another workshop. It will be an outdoor photography workshop! Look for details soon!
