Closure of FRC²

With deep regret, we will no longer be continuing with FRC² at Front Range Community
College-Larimer Campus.  All activities will stop immediately, and all FRC² social media
sites will shut down on August 15, 2013.

This shut down date will give you time to retrieve any important information on our

various FRC² sites, if you wish.

Please visit the FRC² website at www.frc2.org  and the FRC² blog at www.frcreativecommunity.blogspot.com for valuable information that was accumulated
over the years.  You can connect to the FRC² forum and gallery through the FRC² website.
With a lot of consideration, this decision was not made lightly.  The FRC² leadership team
has put a lot of time and effort into making FRC² a success over the years. I appreciate
the dedication of the whole leadership team past and present for their unwavering
commitment to FRC².  Each leader took on a role on the team and executed their
responsibilities without hesitation.  I want to thank each and everyone of them personally because they have truly devoted themselves to the promotion of FRCC and the MGD and ART programs:

Linda Baldwin
Jenn Blake
Ce Bondhus
Robin Huber
Lane Leazer
Janee (Cookson) Lensing
Rory Maison
Caitlin Ming
Jacob Sparks

And especially Karl Dukstein, Chair of the Creative Arts Design & Humanities at

Front Range Community College-Larimer Campus for his support and dedication of FRC²
and to Dale Rosenbach for his mentoring and support of FRC².

And to our countless number of professionals that have committed there time and talent

to FRC²!  We have learned so much from their expertise! I wanted to let you know without
you none of this was possible!
There are a number of reasons why the FRC² leadership team came to the conclusion to shut down. In short, many of our FRC² members have moved on to other things in their lives, and do not have the time to devote to FRC².  We started out very strong with a group of very enthusiastic members, but over the years we have not been able to capture that enthusiasm with the new crop of students coming into FRCC.  And we have not be able to recruit fresh leaders into the mix.
One of the main reasons, all of us started this group was to get in outside professionals in our fields to teach us things that we were missing in our education at FRCC.   However, it doesn't look good for FRCC to have these professionals come in and give of their time freely and no one shows up!  Everything we have done is to promote FRCC, so this lack of attendance does not look good through the eyes of the beholders.

We have tried numerous ways and opportunities to get the attendance up, but it just isn't happening.

So at this point, it is better to go out on top and know that we have been successful in our goals:

"The Front Range Creative Community (FRC²) is a supportive and inspirational network of Front Range Community College creatives interested in the visual and written arts. Our purpose is to provide an informal environment where members can explore and express their creativity, develop and enhance their skills, and reach out into the local community. FRC²empowers members to pursue their dreams and share their special talents in order that each person can achieve his or her artistic goals."

I am so proud to be a small part of this wonderful group of people!

I want to personally thank you for your support and commitment to FRC²!  Please keep in touch and my door is always open to help in anyway if the need arises!  I have enjoyed getting to know you.  I have witness your artistic endeavors come alive and that has been something to remember!

Always,
